Now be a part of my new family.
Remember all the trips to Erie
With the boat and camping and hiking we'd do.
And the years of boating and water skiing
And tubing in the river and Lake Erie, too.
The many Sunday drives we took,
Dad drove while the rest of us would sleep.
And the years at Kennywood and Cedar Point,
We had so much fun, and they're all memories I can keep.
Watching the fireworks in Pittsburgh on the boat
On the Fourth of July and the Regatta, too.
And the time swimming I got stuck between two boats,
And dad had to dive in and save me, it's true.
I'm so grateful and thankful for all of your help
When I first bought my house, too.
I don't think I could have done it
Without the help from both of you.
I'll also never forget your help
With trying to fix my leaking pool.
We were freezing-standing in the deep end
Lifting endless buckets--who were we trying to fool?
And now I'm getting married.
So a new chapter in my life will start.
But you, mom and dad, will always remain
Right here within my heart.
