Thank You
Mom and Dad

Memories of childhood
Are still fresh in my mind, and I'm
Really very thankful because
You each are one of a kind.
A thank you isn't nearly enough --
No words could make you see.
Nothing I can say or do can
Actually prove what you mean to me.
Now that I'm getting married, the
Direction and guidance I got from you, will
Endure throughout my lifetime in
Decisions I make and in all things I do. Your
Willingness to love me enough
And to understand what I wanted in my life,
Really taught me to trust and believe in myself --
Desirable traits I can now share with my wife.

Thank you for having the confidence in me
To keep me from giving up, too.
I am who I am today,
Because of both of you.

I'm sorry for driving you crazy
With those private lessons for those drums, it's true.
And the dunebuggies, motorcycles, cars, and trucks,
All of my "wheeled creations", too.

Do you remember when I was little
And I would chase down the garbage man?
See, I even liked trucks at that young age,
And I just wanted to give him a hand.

Remember when we went camping
And I tried to jump the skunk and got sprayed?
Then I put on all that cologne to cover the smell,
Oh boy, what a difference that made!

Thank you for the many wonderful memories over the years, and I look forward to making many more in the years to follow. And now, as I marry my wife and begin to make new memories, I'm going to give my bride a love that's strong and true, with all I have to offer her instilled in me by you. I love you both so much!!! David

I loved all the times we went camping and fishing
On our trips up to Pumatuming, too.
Those are all wonderful memories
Of our family times spent with all of you.

And now I'm getting married,
So a new chapter in my life will start.
But you, mom and dad, will always remain
Right here within my heart.
